Although J.J. Sedelmaier has garnered a stellar 20 year reputation for his high profile and seminal work in animation, the process of network and product branding has been a staple on his company's roster since its inception.

Sedelmaier's encyclopedic background in all areas of graphic design history (he regularly contributes to the Print Magazine blog, "Imprint") and broadcast production, qualifies him like few others to approach each project with a fresh attitude and a unique sensibility.Sedelmaier, along with Turner network exec Betty Cohen, graphic design guru Tom Corey and producer Tom Pomposello, also produced the in-house film within Turner Broadcasting that presented the concept of a "Cartoon Network". Always brought in at an early phase to help formulate strategy and a solid image manifesto, J.J. Sedelmaier has helped networks NBC, ABC, USA and the Discovery Channel, create promotional concepts and even productions that effectively bolster the image and sensibilities of the companies he collaborates with. In terms of the world of advertising, Sedelmaier has developed and created successful characters and commercial campaigns that have launched new products AND re-introduced clients' icons to a new generation! NBC called on Sedelmaier to help reintroduce their classic Peacock, Bayer and EnergyBBDO in Chicago commissioned him to act as an agency creative and later design/direct the resurrection of Alka-Seltzer's "Speedy" character. Stephen Colbert personally requested Sedelmaier to create his "Spartina" production company logo and end tag seen on each and every broadcast of "The Colbert Report" and later hired him and his company to graphically create and develop the program's cult comicbook hero and animated series, "Tek Jansen". King Features Syndicate solicited Sedelmaier (along with other experts in the comicstrip/animation/advertising industries) to participate in an analysis of their flagship property,"Popeye". Born and raised in Chicago, one of J.J.'s favorite and most comprehensive branding projects was the work he did for The Chicago Tribune. Contracted by agency DDB/Chicago to help with the initial business pitch, Sedelmaier personally designed the characters and worked with his handpicked creative team on each and every aspect of the campaign - TV, print, transit, theatrical and outdoor. Sedelmaier also developed the Design Standards Bible that allowed his vision to be consistently carried out in all areas of future production.
