J.J. Sedelmaier Productions began working with SNL in 1991. In 1992, SNL Senior Producer/Director Jim Signorelli, paired the studio with SNL writer Robert Smigel to produce the award-winning commercial parody, "Cluckin' Chicken". The well received short film, voiced by Adam Sandler and starring Phil Hartman, garnered worldwide attention and initiated one of the most important creative relationships that JJSP is known for. Smigel later called on Sedelmaier to help create the Saturday TV Funhouse cartoons, which include "The Ambiguously Gay Duo", "The X-Presidents", "Fun With Real Audio", and numerous other titles. After creating the cartoon series with Smigel and producing all of them for the first 3 seasons, JJSP opted out of the exclusive relationship, but continues to produce and animate "The Ambiguously Gay Duo" cartoons.
